A family campsite for four generations

1955: the beginning

The story of Camping ’t Hoekje began in 1955, when Arjaan and Moatje Huibregtse opened a small campsite on Joossesweg in Westkapelle. It was nothing like the campsite you see today, just a simple grassy field where the first holidaymakers pitched their tents and parked their caravans. Small and welcoming, and in many ways, that hasn't changed.

1979: the second generation

In 1979, the second generation took over. Their daughter Mientje and her husband Noute Brasser continued running Camping ’t Hoekje. They built on what her parents had started, gradually improving the campsite over the years.

2004: the third generation

Their son Wim grew up surrounded by caravans, tents and campsite guests. As he got older, he became more and more involved in the family business. In 2004, Wim and Vivian took over Camping ’t Hoekje together, becoming the third generation to run the campsite.

A lot has changed since then. The campsite has continued to develop, facilities have been improved and the small grassy field has grown into the campsite our guests know today. At the same time, we believe it's just as important to hold on to what makes Camping ’t Hoekje special. It remains a small, family-run campsite where personal contact and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere are at the heart of everything we do.

The fourth generation

Meanwhile, the fourth generation has also grown up with Camping ’t Hoekje. Wim and Vivian's children have been familiar with campsite life from an early age and now regularly lend a hand. In this way, the family story continues, more than 70 years after it first began.

From a small grassy field in 1955 to four generations later, a lot has changed over the years. But Camping ’t Hoekje is still a place where we enjoy working together as a family and where we look forward to welcoming our guests.
